Exercise

Physical activity is one of the most powerful tools you have to prevent both heart disease and Alzheimer's. Regular exercise strengthens the heart, improves blood flow, and reduces inflammation throughout your body. You don't need to train like an athlete — aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate activity per week, such as brisk walking, swimming, or cycling. Exercise also promotes the growth of new brain cells and strengthens connections between existing ones. Even small amounts of movement add up, so a 20-minute walk most days makes a real difference. Quality sleep is when your brain does its most important maintenance work, including the crucial protein cleanup that prevents harmful buildup. Aim for 7 to 9 hours of consistent, quality sleep each night by maintaining a regular bedtime, avoiding screens before bed, and keeping your bedroom cool and dark.
